Chad Jones is showing his artwork at the Reedley Opera House for the month of February.    His reception will be open to the public Feb 12, 5:30 pm to 7 pm.

Here’s Chad’s bio:

I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley and am proud to
call Reedley the place where I come from. I would say
that having roots here is one of the biggest
influences on my art. The agriculture, orchards and
vineyards, the smells, the water or lack of, the heat
and fog, family and friends, our intermittent views of
the Sierras, crops marking the coming and going of
seasons, and the Kings River keeping time with it all
are only some of the ingredients which make a sort of
secret recipe for inspiration. Its kind of ironic that
a viewer will not find too many of these images in my
work, but one might recognize the feeling that
resonates in this place. This valley is cruel, it is
good, it is transcendent if you let it be. Maybe you
will find a similar feeling in my work or maybe not.

I have been painting with oils since 1993 and have
been showing my work in the Central Valley for the
last 8 years. I am very thankful to the local
collectors who have purchased my work and hope that
the sincerity with which I approach each piece will
continue to bring them much inspiration and joy as
time goes by.
